Good Morning Sanford Families,

Welcome to Spring Break!

Our wish is that the next week brings some relaxation and restoration to everyone after a long winter. School will resume on Monday April 8thWe look forward to seeing you then.

For those of you that like a heads up and want to plan ahead

Here are the April Sanford Notes:

Spring Afterschool Session

The first day of Spring Session is Monday April 8th- the first day we return from spring break.

Students were handed forms in their advisory to fill out and they returned them yesterday.

If you would like a list of the classes click HERE or for any questions contact Ms. T at lily.thiboutot@mpls.k12.mn.us

MCA Testing

MCA testing will be April 15-26th

  1. As you know, our policy is that all cell phones stay in student’s lockers during the school day. During MCA testing on April 15-26, we will be asking students to turn cellphones and smart watches into their math and ELA teachers daily, if they are brought to class.  Alternatively, parents could keep technology at home for those dates to help with MCA test security.  The same will be true for 8th graders in science classes on May 7-9 for the science MCAs.

2) If vacations are planned during the above dates, please email Elizabeth.oconnell@mpls.k12.mn.us if you have not already done so, make up dates can be arranged.

3) Parents have a right to refuse but all refusals need to be turned in by April 12th.  The form and schedule is on our website under testing in the left hand column.

School Messenger has been Updated

We use school messenger to communicate with our families. It recently underwent an update from the District level and you may notice a change in that you receive general updates for a student if you are listed as an emergency contact. If at any time you would like to change your preferences for numbers for communication, you may do so at mpls.k12.mn.us/school_messenger

Please keep in mind that if you delete a number or opt out, we do not have a way to communicate with you. If you have moved or changed your number, please let us know so that we can update our records.
