We will hear from our Principal Amy Nelson with a budget update for next year and a preliminary discussion of the proposed Comprehensive District Design Plan. Associate Superintendent Carla Steinbach will join us for the first part of the meeting to hear our thoughts about the proposed Comprehensive Design.

How does the proposed plan affect Sanford students?

Of the three proposed plans, in plans two and three Pratt would no longer be a feeder school to Sanford and our current 6th grade students would pathway to Roosevelt High School unless they are enrolling in the All Nations Native American program at South High starting in the year 20-21.

Spring Performance of William Shakespeare’s a Midsummer Night’s Dream

Please join us to see Shakespeare in middle school! The performances will be:

Friday May 17th 7:00pm

Saturday May 18th 7:00pm

There is no fee, but we are asking for voluntary donations to keep our theater program thriving. We couldn’t do this without you!

A Message from our Health Office

Please pick up any extra medication that is being stored in the Health Office before the end of the year.

6th Grade

Updating immunizations for entering 7th grade

Just a reminder that Minnesota law requires that all students entering 7th grade be immunized against certain communicable diseases unless they claim an exemption for medical or conscientious reasons.

Immunizations required before 7th grade include: 

Tdap---1 dose

MMR---2 doses 

Varicella---2 doses 

Hepatitis B-3 doses 

Meningitis---1 dose 

If your child has not had these required immunizations, please contact your health care provider to make an appointment for your child to receive these vaccines. Please bring a copy of your child’s updated immunizations to the school health office.

A Reminder from Athletics

Plan ahead and have a sports physical scheduled now before fall sports start in the end of summer for 7th and 8th grade students participating at the high schools.

A message from the Media Center

The last day to check out books is Friday May 17th.

The last day to return books is Thursday May 30th.

Please have your students check their rooms/backpacks for any books that need to be returned.

Last Day of School Plan

Friday June 7th

6th Grade

Will walk with their teachers and peers to Minnehaha Park to have a picnic lunch

7th Grade

Will walk to Brackett Park with their teachers and peers for a picnic lunch.

A grilled hot dog lunch will be provided, students may also bring their lunch from home.

If students are biking, skateboarding or scootering- they MUST have a helmet.



Class of 2023 Promotion to High School

Friday June 7th-last day of school

9:30-10:45am Assembly in Auditorium

10:45-11:30 Refreshments in our courtyard

Parents are welcome to attend. Space is very limited with over 300 8th grade students so we ask that you limit your attendance to two members per family.


Missing jackets, hoodies, lunchbags?

There is a mound of items on the lost and found table in the lunchroom.

Please have your students check this week for any lost items.

Items remaining will be donated.


Empty those drawers for the summer and bring your boxtops to the main office. They do expire, so frequent drop offs are helpful.
