Traveling in Guatemala, 2005

About Me:

My name is Kate Martin and I'm the AVID Coordinator and an AVID elective teacher at Sanford Middle School.  I love teaching middle school students, and have been a teacher at Sanford for over a decade.

I received my M.Ed. from the University of Minnesota and my B.A. in History from Beloit College, a small liberal arts school in Wisconsin.  I realized

I wanted to become a teacher during my two years in AmeriCorps with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.  Building houses during Minnesota winters was a challenge, but I loved teaching volunteers and making a positive difference in my community.

In my free time I enjoy being with friends and family, cuddling with my two daughters, Cecile and Julia, reading, going to the movies, traveling, gardening, and playing
