Parent Update: What's Happening at Sanford

Last Day of School Wed. June 14th Plans

Please note: In the event that it is too hot to go to the parks, students will stay at school and have activities in our air-conditioned building. 

6th Grade- Walks to Minnehaha Park- we have a large pavilion rented and they grill out

Students may bring water bottles- but students are responsible to carry and bring home.

Milk will be offered and parks have drinking fountains

7th Grade- Walks to Bracket Park and grills out

8th Grade- Class of 2021! Meets in the auditorium with their teachers for the Promotion Ceremony from 9:00-10:00am. Parents/families are welcome to join us, but there is only room for 2 family members per student. 

We will then walk to Longfellow Park for refreshments, photos, yearbook signing and laughs. We are usually at the park until about 12:00pm.

You may then take your high school bound student home with you.

 

Morning & After School Programs

Our school day for 2016-17 is 8:45am - 3:45pm for students.

Our morning program will continue at 7:30-8:30am, starting on Tuesday, 9/6. Students must have returned the blanket permission form from the first-day packet in order to participate. There is no fee.

Our after-school programs will start on 10/3 and will begin with dinner 3:45-4:!5, then activities will be 4:!5-5:30pm. There is no fee for dinner or programs!  (Thank you to all who donated to Sanford this year - your donations help us ensure that we can offer all programming for free!)

Sanford Parent Group (SPG) & Site Council

SPG usually meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00pm during the school year. Our next meeting is Thursday, October 13th. We meet in the media center.

Site Council meets every other month on the first Thursday at 5:00pm during the school year. Our first meeting this fall will be Thursday, October 6th. We meet in the media center. Site Council meetings, like SPG, are open meetings.
