We are keeping busy at Sanford and students are working hard.

Afterschool

There is no afterschool on Thanksgiving Break week Mon. Nov. 20th and Tues. Nov. 21st

Chinook Books

It’s not too late to get a Chinook Book or mobile app.

The Sanford Parent Group has decided to extend the Chinook Book fundraiser through mid Dec. They make excellent gifts and we have school events coming up that are a great opportunity to buy a book or app.

Sanford Food Drive

The Hawks Team will be heading up an all school food drive starting on Mon. Dec. 4th.

We are collecting nonperishable food items. Items will be dropped off in designated rooms throughout the school. Students will receive drop off locations in advisory.

An added food drive challenge!

Roosevelt High School is partnering with middle schools in a friendly competition of who can collect the most boxes of mac-n-cheese. The Middle School with the most boxes collected will receive the coveted mac-n-cheese trophy. We are so far undefeated-let’s do it again and help families in need.

If you or a family you know is in need of a holiday dinner basket to be delivered to you on Fri. Dec 22nd between 11-2pm and you live in the south mpls area please contact becky.wessman@mpls.k12.mn.us

 

Another opportunity Sanford families have is to enroll in a program that discreetly provides a 4-5 lb bag of nonperishable food items to take home once a week on Friday. This program is open to any Sanford student. If you are interested in participating, please contact Becky Wessman at Becky.wessman@mpls.k12.mn.us or 612-668-4916.

 

“Into the Woods”  Project Success Play Performances

Fri. Dec. 1st 7:00pm

Sat. Dec. 2nd 7:00pm

All performances will be in Sanford’s auditorium 3524 42nd Ave S.

Ticket price is $5. Five and under are free.

All will be admitted regardless of ability to pay

 

All students will be seeing a performance during the day on Friday.

Sanford Parent Group (SPG) & Site Council

SPG meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00pm during the school year.  We meet in the media center.

Site Council meets every other month on the first Thursday at 5:00pm during the school year. Our first meeting this fall will be Thursday, October 6th. We meet in the media center. Site Council meetings, like SPG, are open meetings.

Morning & After School Programs

Our school day for 2017-18 is 8:45am - 3:45pm for students.

Our morning program will continue at 7:30-8:15am, starting on Tuesday, 9/5. Students must have returned the blanket permission form from the first-day packet in order to participate. There is no fee.

Our after-school programs will start on 9/25 and will begin with dinner 3:45-4:15, then activities will be 4:15-5:30pm. There is no fee for dinner or programs!  (Thank you to all who donated to Sanford this year - your donations help us ensure that we can offer all programming for free!)
