Our Goals

How we will get there

 

READING

 

● To increase MCA proficiency rate for all students by at least 5%

●Increase MCA proficiency rates for African American students by at least 8% per year

●To continue the MCA 8+% growth in proficiency we have seen for our Native American students

 

●Literacy Coach will work with teachers across curricular areas to plan culturally responsive lessons and to teach reading skills

●AVID leads will include reading strategies in their classrooms

●Culturally responsive teaching training for all staff. 

 

MATH

 

● To increase MCA proficiency rate for all students at least 5%

●Increase MCA  proficiency rates for African-American students and Native American students by at least 8%

●Math coach will work with math teachers in planning and co- teaching.

●Math teachers will be trained in academic conversations through math discourse.

●Culturally responsive teaching training for all staff.

 

 

CLIMATE

 

●Increase percent of students who attend school 95% or more of the time from 69% to at least 75%.

●Decrease the percentage of students who attend school less than 80% of the time from 18% to no more than 15%.

 

●Intentionally build relationships with targeted groups through morning advisory time.

●Teachers make more parent contacts with positive news to build relationships with families.

●Inclusion of “school skills” in unit planning to support student success, such as: self management, communication, social skills, research and thinking skills
