SIP Goal

How are we going to get there?

Goal 1: MYP: To eliminate racial achievement gaps in subject-area learning for African-American, Native American and Latinx students, as measured by growth rates on MYP unit summative assessments in all subject areas.

 

AVID: AVID classes for qualifying students covering all three grades, and using multiple AVID strategies school-wide, including binders, note-taking and critical reading strategies.

 

MYP: A focus on unit development and feedback as well as tracking student progress for targeted groups.

 

MTSS:  (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support)

Ensuring that strong instruction and systems of support and interventions are in place to meet the needs of all learners.

 

Equity and Mindfulness: Reaching all learners through culturally responsive pedagogy

 

Math: Creating and implementing cognitively demanding tasks for math

 

Goal 2: MATH: To decrease our racial achievement gaps by increasing math proficiency rate for all students at least 5%, and also increasing proficiency rates for African-American, Native American and Latinx students by at least 8% as measured by the MCA in Spring 2018

 

Goal 3: READING: To decrease our racial achievement gaps in Reading by increasing proficiency rate for all students at least 5% each year, and also increasing proficiency rates for African American and Latinx students by at least 8% per year, and to continue the 8+ growth of reading proficiency for our Native American Students.

 

Goal 4:  CLIMATE: To increase the score on positive student-teacher relationships at Sanford from 2.85 to f 3.1. To increase the score on school connectedness from 2.77 to 2.91.
