Welcome!  It is an honor and privelege to work with the students, families, and staff of Sanford Middle.  I'm a new School Psychologist for MPS, and I'm eager to connect with the community. Please feel free to contact me, to talk about the ways I can support your student's needs here at Sanford.

A little about me...I came to Minneapolis only a year ago, previously living in St. Louis, Missouri and Atlanta, Georgia.  I have worked with adolescents for over 15 years, in a variety of roles.  I am most passionate about a) efforts to improve a school-wide system of support, b) the mental health needs of students, and c) issues related to school climate and culture.

What is a School Psychologist?  School psychologists apply expertise in learning, behavior and mental health, to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between the home and the school, and within the community.

What Do School Psychologists Do? School psychologists help coordinate support and interventions for students, as well as conduct assessments and evaluations. They consult with teachers, families, and other staff to improve academic and behavior support strategies, and they work with the school's administrators to improve school-wide practices, policies, and overall climate.
