Capital Visit

Ten students from all three grades went to the Capital to practice how to advocate for a topic they were interested in, watched a Youth Committee Meeting, and wrote letters to a Senator and House Representatives. Senator Patricia Torres-Ray graciously took the Sanford students onto the Senate floor, spoke Spanish with our Hispanic students, and took a great photo.

Our students loved it!  Students generated some great discussions about their role in politics and truly were engaged.
