The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has a wide variety of handouts and materials for parents.  For handouts about health and wellness, mental health, diversity behavior, mental health issues, crisis and safety, parenting, and special populations in several languages, you can access this link.

 Colorín Colorado! is a free web-based, bilingual service that provides information, activities, and advice for educators and families of English language learners (or ELLs) to help PreK-3, 4-8, and 9-12 students learn to read. While most materials are focused on Spanish-speaking families, resources are provided in eleven languages including Hmong and Arabic. 

Ad Lit is a web site which offers resources about adolescent literacy for parents and teachers in grades 4-12, including lesson plans, interviews with authors, and developmental issues. You can sign up to receive a monthly newsletter.

The Minnesota Association for Children's Mental Health provides fact sheets about the wide variety of mental health diagnoses which are common to children and adolescents, including educational implications of these disorders and recommended teaching strategies.  Parents and teachers who want more detailed information about ADHD may want to explore the CHADD .

The Minneapolis Public Schools Special Education department web site includes a list of community resources which may be helpful to parents.
